Puzzle Bobble Online making its first appearance at G-star 2010
March 21, 2011 10:18 PM PDT

Puzzle Bobble Online

Neowiz Games, which appeared unperturbed in Q1, designs to put multiple games in to the market in Q2. Puzzle Bobble Online making its first appearance at G-star 2010 is expected to meet the audience in Q2. Featuring simple controls, cute dinosaurs & friendly graphics, Puzzle Bobble Online is deeply favored by female players.

Mgame will also give a lovely account of itself in Q2. Last year's disappointing sales led to the company's large-scale structural adjustments at the beginning of this year, so Mgame will be contingent on War of Dragons & Warbane to reverse the situation in Q2. Additionally, its products like Princess Maker Online are likely to enter the market in Q2.

Beside, Neowiz Games' self-developed Dizzel is anticipated increasingly eagerly & has become the driving force to boost Neowiz Games' stock cost. The game is scheduled to come out in Q2.

Furthermore, Actoz Soft wishes to wipe out its former disgrace with the help of Dark Blood, & JCE's Freestyle: Street Basketball 2 will show up in Q2, as well.

It can be basically seen that various game companies are set to bring out games of different genres in Q2, 2011, & will bump their heads against each other in the game market.

Vanessa Hudgens Flaunts Abs & Talks Zac Efron Split: The Relationship Kept Me Grounded

Zac Efron may be eating his heart out. What better break-up revenge than to pose on the cover of a national journal showing off your toned body and six pack! But the split between Zac and Vanessa Hudgens was amicable, according to the 22-year-old brunette bombshell who covers the April issue of Shape journal, opening up about her break-up, workout system and love for speedy food!
Long-distance relationships are hard no matter what, Vanessa tells Shape of her split from Zac last December, after six years together.

When you don t have face-to-face time, it s different. Having an iPhone helped, but it wasn t the same, they added of their hectic working schedules.

We grew up together, they says of Zac. It was nice to have someone to share all of those experiences with. It was a nice thing. The relationship kept me grounded, and because I was with someone who knew me so well, I didn t need to try to be someone I m not.

Vanessa still remains friends with Zac who recently visited Vanessa on the set of her new film Journey 2: The Mysterious Island and considers their relationship an important one in her life.

And they is definitely prepared to move on together with her love life.

As for keeping her rockin bod in shape, Vanessa likes to take people out!

I hope by the time I m 30 to have a husband and perhaps a kid, they reveals. I love children. They re a lot fun, and I would have a blast spoiling them!

My mom and I do cardio kickboxing classes together, they shares with the fitness journal. I love wearing my baseball hat, tilting my head down, and pretending I m taking people out. It s therapeutic.

I was so unhealthy, they says. I used to go to Chilled Stone Creamery, receive a tub of Butterfinger ice cream, and eat it all before bedtime. And my fingers were permanently stained orange from Cheetos.

Vanessa also admits that in the work of her teen years, they was hooked on junk food.

players or are there any official things planned
March 14, 2011 11:31 PM PDT

How often does the dev team get involved in jogging in-game events? Is that mostly left up to players or are there any official things planned?

Amy-lynn "MOTORMOUTH" Smith, Community and Public Relations: They have an excellent group of volunteers who spend hours researching, designing and executing scenarios for our Events server (it stands apart from the live game). Past events have included Pearl Harbor, a player favorite; Clash of the Titans, an all-armor scenario; and the Battle of Britain, held to comemorate the 70th anniversary of that encounter. While these events are organised by players, they are all CRS sanctioned and supported. This year, we are kicking the event schedule in to overdrive to mark our 10th Anniversary. We'll be hosting lots more mini-events as well as the bigger, more complex scenarios, and staff will be far more involved.

Several times a year they hold "Kill A Rat" events on the live server. The Cornered Rat Program staff logs in and taunts the players mercilessly, hurling insults, mocking them... it is great. The top Rat Killer gets a t-shirt proclaiming his awesomeness.

We have also been trying something new for the breaks between campaigns. After one side or another wins the map, they have a two to three day break before they reset for the next campaign. Historicallyin the past, those intermissions have usually opened up the equipment list to everyone, a virtual free-for-all, in the event you will. This year they decided to design and host mini-scenarios on the live server in the work of those breaks in lieu. These are designed and managed by our Game Manager Geoff "DOC" Evans. Both the Battle of the Bulge and The Bridges of Nijmegen were brilliantly well received by the players. We are looking forward to trying increasingly of these.

The free-to-play trend is sweeping the industry and plenty of older (and even newer) games have abandoned the sub model in order to draw more potential customers. Has the dev team thought about F2P at this point?

Al "RAFTER" Corey: Our game wasn't designed to support a F2P model, and the simulation-style gameplay means you seldom require a player to have an advantage over another player because they bought the "super-uber helmet of power!" Most F2P games have a deep marketplace/microtransaction method for purchasing weapon upgrades and character skills. Our game depends entirely on actual player skills, not leveling or power-ups. Having said that, they have been experimenting with a F2P option that will benefit from a more mature method for unlocking in-game abilities and/or permissions -- not for weapon or unit modifiers; those are no-nos for a simulation.

The MMO landscape is different now than when you launched in 2001. How do you feel about the move away from sandboxes/simulations and toward disposable/accessible games? Do you think that theoretical titles inspired by WWIIOL have a future, and has the team thought about a true sequel at some point?

Dana "GOPHUR" Baldwin: Modern games are much more about a directed experience. Players like to have clear objectives that they can strive to attain. They think the future of WWIIOL will continue to follow that work. They have definitely entertained the idea of what they would do to make a WWIIOL v2.0. That game would share a lot with what they have, build on what we have learned, and strive to generate a bigger world out of smaller spaces, more concentrated on individual battles and having those battles have consequences that directly influence the victory of the campaign.

Al "RAFTER" Corey: We have carved out a successful niche with our open-world, simulation-style war game. We have acknowledged the move away from open-world MMOs in the market, and a number of the benefits of not having to support that kind of terrain and game systems opens other doors. Our product plan has always included expanding in to other theaters of operations -- something that would definitely warrant a "sequel" title.

They think the game is as awesome today as it was when they released, and our focus would be on making the simulation aspect shine while improving the user-friendliness to help appeal to a broader non-sim market. Two times you "get" this game, it is simple to get hooked, as proved out by the plenty of long-time players they have. For the future, they require to help more players who are not traditional sim players "get" the game.

Of work we'd also argue that, with 10 years of updates, major feature additions, and limitless new units and systems, they could have tagged a "version 2.0" on any number of our point releases. They don't live in the old-school publishing world anymore, so "sequels" might not be as relevant for an MMO. Having said that, they are still reaching for that next major step in the game's development, and they think we'll get there.

With the release date of Blade & Soul coming closer, Korea-based NCsoft reached Taiwan again to keep abreast of local customs. The company also took a Taiwanese medium's interview, and disclosed to the eagerly-waiting players Blade & Soul's current development status as well as its Taiwanese version's release schedule. As Blade & Soul's release dates in the areas excluding South Korea are still unannounced, the development director Pae Chae-Hyön this time declared that the game was to kick off OBT in summer next year (2012), which is without a doubt excellent news for players. That is to say, Taiwanese players will be able to enjoy NCsoft's fourth blockbuster through its CBT early next year.

[Part 1]NCsoft: 60%-finished Blade & Soul to Launch OBT in Taiwan Next Summer

In addition to the thrilling news, Pae Chae-Hyon and Kim Hyung Tae also disclosed plenty of details related to Blade & Soul's development, including the development status, creative gameplay content, racial settings, and skill rendering modes.  read on in the event you are a fan of Blade & Soul!

Only 60% Done?

If cautious , you can find that NCsoft usually makes great improvements in its games' content from the game announcement to official release. For example, it can be seen that Aion's officially-released version made a breakthrough progress in its graphics compared to its originally-announced version. Blade & Soul is no exception. Pae Chae-Hyön always answered "around 50% finished" when being asked about the game's development status no matter two or three years ago, and even this year, his answer was  "nearly 60% finished". However, based on Blade & Soul's trial version released at last year's G-Star, both the media and players fancy that the game has been developed fully  to enter the market.

Next Time's Game Info Release Will Relate to CBT

As Blade & Soul is reported without cease by the media, when will the official company formally release relevant game info again? Mr. Pae expressed that the next game info release would be about the game's CBT in South Korea. As NCsoft's 2010 financial statement shows, Blade & Soul is set to start its CBT in the first half of 2011.

Blade & Soul Will Challenge the Game Market and Even Push the Limits of RPGs

As for the comprehensive creativity that WoW brought to the market at the outset, Mr. Pae confessed that WoW did catch players' eyes upon its debut thanks to its groundbreaking design like the relatively simple quests and newly-added instance mode, which later became necessary gameplay content in MMORPGs. Things are the same in Blade & Soul. Players may think the game was  fresh and novel in the early days after its release, but may later insist that RPGs ought to be made in this way, forming a fixed notion.

Alter-Ego: A quick and dirty guide to Area 51

When it comes to taking your first steps in DC Universe Online, the sheer amount of different types of missions and objectives can be a bit daunting. "What is this Alert thing sitting in my quest log?" you might say. "What does it do? It is PvP? PvE? What's the point of doing an Alert?" Well, to help demystify some of DC Universe Online's content for you, I wanted to offer up a basic overview to the very first in-game Alert: Area 51. However, knowing that some of you have already run this instance, I also wanted to make it useful for those who may have popped in but not spent a great deal of time in the zone. That's why this post not only contains a first-timer's overview of this Alert but also gives more advanced players a handy guide to all the Investigations, Player Briefings and Collections -- as well as a couple of other things I found in the Area 51 zone that might have been missed otherwise.

Ready to dig in and help beat Brainiac back from trying to take over? Curious about what kind of extra goodies can be gained? Join me after the break as I take some of the mystery out of the notorious Area 51!

Players will initially get the Area 51 PvE Alert notice at level 9, although the mission text itself suggests running it at level 10. While you can run the instance at level 9, I'd suggest holding off as well. Why? Level 10 is when you have the ability to toggle into your particular role (tank, control, heal -- hitting T on the keyboard or the up-arrow on controller) and really get a chance to stretch your legs in a group setting. Knowing what your powers do -- and when to toggle back and forth between them -- can save you a great deal of trouble down the road. I can't recommend that enough since understanding how the extension of your powers in other roles can really change the gameplay for you. Besides, when you get to the endgame raids, people will be looking for those who understand their powers and roles. Now is the time to get the hang of it!

To get to Area 51, you'll hit Y to bring up the menu    best aion kinah seller,     buy tibia gold,     cheap WOW GOLD US,     atlantica gold,     aion kinah buy, ; go to Alerts, select Area 51, and then pick then next available. This particular Alert is set for a 4-man group, and the Alert is a PvE instanced area. If you're able to assemble a group outside of the Alert system, it can save you some time. Also, while you can go off and do other things while waiting for Area 51 to pop, I'd actually recommend leaving the Alert selected as your current mission. Entering the Alert instance with something else selected caused me to not get the first objectives/mission overview upon zoning as recently as a few nights ago. If you haven't been there before, it can create a lot of confusion as you watch everyone else zip around and complete objectives -- while nothing comes up on your screen!

As for the storyline, Brainiac knows that Area 51 is the location of all manner of wicked alien goodies (surprise) that help mankind resist his invasion; it's also the world's primary storehouse of green kryptonite. He's out to destroy the tech and make off with the kryptonite so he can use it against Superman and the other Kryptonians. Since you (and all other exobyte-created heroes and villains) seem to be immune to the effects of green kryptonite, it's up to you to help CADMUS (read: the super-secret military) protect Area 51 from Brainiac's invading forces.

Area 51 has four specific groups of objectives ranging from the obvious "beating the snot out of invading forces" to "turning on base defenses to help your side." Heck, you'll wind up hacking Brainiac's minions to fight for you as well, so it's definitely a question of who controls resources! Ultimately, Area 51 is important not just from the standpoint of furthering story and landing some nice (if somewhat rapidly out-leveled) gear but also because it helps people to use their specific roles in a group setting. Frankly, this is really the main point of this instance -- getting your feet wet in switching roles for group play.

Now, because I promised a little something more for those who have likely run the instance but may not have found all the collection items to unlock the goodies only available in Area 51, I offer a quick and dirty listing of extras. This includes all the Investigations (green icons), Player Briefs (blue icons), and Collections (Yellow icons) you'll want to look out for in the zone. In the spirit of making it at least somewhat fun, I didn't give you a point-by-point map, although the descriptions should give you enough of an idea. Also -- remember you don't have to rush out of the zone when you finish the final boss mob. There's a teleporter in the ship to put you back on the ground, so don't upset your group to hunt these during the fighting! Be careful not to use the "teleport to last location" option, which takes you out of the instance altogether.

Investigation: Cadmus Research Findings (Green) -- This investigation will net you a pair of Grooved Synthweave Boots (L10) and unlocks the Paramilitary style for shoes.

•Area 51 fuel depot: You'll find this near a fence, inside the fence/wall line of the depot.
•Area 51 ammo dump: Look near a ramp next to to one of the large tanks in the corners. It is inside the fence.
•Area 51 command and control center: There are two hanging out in different corners, as well as one near a non-opening door and a large ramp. Note that two seem to be tied since picking up one will turn the other one white, despite your not going near it.
•Brainiac invasion site: Near the medium-sized tower by the kryptonite teleport pads
Player Briefs: (Blue) -- This one will net you the coveted Cowboy Hat helm style for your character. Yeehaw!

•Lois Lane: By the side of the road near the fuel depot. Very easy to spot.
•Amanda Waller (1): This is in a hole in the ground near a broken part of the road next to the ammo dump. Also very easy to spot.
•Amanda Waller (2): Near another broken patch of road, only this one is on the edge of the crater in the center of the map. There is some burning wreckage nearby. Easy to spot
•Jack Ryder: Just outside of command and control near some crates. Easiest way to find this is to jump atop all the crates and look down, since it can be obscured from certain angles.
•Lex Luthor: This one is hiding in a broken satellite dish near Brainiac's invasion ship and requires you to be above/on top of the dish to see it.
•Superman: This one is similarly on a messed-up patch of road by the invasion site. Tricky, but not difficult.

Collection (Yellow): Welcome to Groom Lake -- This nets you the CADMUS t-shirt for your character to wear; the shirt is black with a logo on it. I'd note this is also the most difficult of the three, considering how well the yellowish/white icons blend in with fire, ambient light, and sandy desert landscapes. I've picked several pieces in question up in different places, so I'm simply listing the locations I've seen the collection markers spawn as well as parts you'll need to complete the collection.

•Collection items: Weather Balloon Casing, Majestic 12 Brainwashing Schema, Aurora-58 Warp Drive Capacitor, Unpowered NID Blaster Pistol, and SDI-Style Thermoptics.
•Many of these are located in front of the doors of the smallest buildings atop the white section of the "pad" texture (since they essentially disappear from view unless you're on top of them there).
•One is in front of a small building next to the end of a road, near the Brainiac Invasion ship.
•On a pad in front of the small building next to the communication/door tower by Brainiac's invasion ship. This small building has a Brainiac-type pod atop it and a pathing mob nearby.
•There is another on top of the communications/entry door tower near Brainiac invasion ship. Tricky, but relatively easy to spot compared to the ones in front of the small buildings.
•One is located on the road heading upwards from the ammo dump. This one is relatively out in the open.
•Finally, another is located in a small crevasse just out front of the fuel depot, facing the ammo dump. There is some burning wreckage nearby.
I'd also add that players looking closely can net a crate of goodies and save a citizen from jumping off a high spot in the Tarmac area. Also, players who may not have repaired their gear before heading in or who find themselves using too many Soder Colas can pick up supplies, repair, or sell stuff from their bags by talking to the supply agent atop a central building in the fuel depot.

Oh John Smedley, you coy devil! The enterprising Sony Online Entertainment bossman has dropped another PlanetSide Next tease bomb on the frothing faithful, this time in the form of a new idea model from the upcoming massively multiplayer shooter.

Smedley tweets PlanetSide Galaxy transport image

Fan net site PlanetSide Universe notes that this is a preliminary model & not an in-game asset, & the site also managed to receive a small small bit of additional info from Smedley regarding the reveal. "The Galaxy plays an even more pivotal role in the new game," they told the net site, while his Twitter announcement is a decidedly more cryptic "I love me some Galaxy!"

Fans of the original PlanetSide will no doubt keep in mind the Galaxy heavy troop transport, & an updated version of the model is now viewable along with the historicallyin the past released picture of what appears to be a new Conglomerate tank. The Galaxy ship was a gargantuan heavy hauler, able to stuffing nine infantry & two MAX (Mechanized Armored Exo-Suit) units in to its ample cargo hold.

Freddie Mercury spotted in EVE Online

What's better than a free-to-play side-scrolling beat 'em up MMO from Nexon? A free-to-play side-scrolling beat 'em up from Nexon that makes us forget about the horrible Nic Cage vehicle Season of the Witch, currently burning itself at the stake in a few remaining multiplexes. Nexon's season of the Witch, on the other hand, is the latest class "awakening" for Dungeon Fighter Online, and it's coming to your computer on January 26th in the form of the Act VII: Witching Hour update.

Dungeon Fighter Online readies a brand spanking new awakening

Freddie Mercury spotted in EVE Online

As you've no doubt surmised by now, the content patch brings a brand spanking new Witch subclass to the desk, a Mage derivative who focuses on alchemy and "makes battle decisions based on probability," according to a Nexon press release. The new patch also features a high-level Hellkarium weapon quest and a brand spanking new dungeon called the Screaming Cavern. The Cavern is home to Giant Nugol, a gigantic worm that guards the level 54 instance as if her life depended on it.

Before the new character creator went live, people had some reservations about it. While the new characters were expected to look very realistic, some players prefer to pull funny faces and generate hilarious avatars that better suit their clownish approach to the game. Other players expressed concerns that there might not be variety, and that all the members of one bloodline would look very identical. While the choice of clothing is likely to stay limited until Incarna, it seems that all other fears have been squarely put to rest as players continue to make some fantastic and often hilarious avatars.

EVE Online's new character creator went live yesterday in a mammoth 1.2 Gb patch. While some players (myself included) are still waiting for the patch to finish downloading, it's already clear that the new characters are a gigantic hit with the EVE community. Immediately following the Incursion expansion's final release yesterday, the forums exploded with topics filled with people trying out the new avatar customisation method -- with hilarious results. Players have even begun faithfully re-creating real-world celebrities, from Freddie Mercury and the Village People to the cast of Star Trek. On the other side of the fence, some visually impressive, realistic and even emotive avatars have been produced.

I manage to stockpile plenty of robotic alien corpses
January 09, 2011 09:25 PM PST

So all the character creation is done, I made one character and got in to the fray. The game starts with some kind of tutorial, but it's not exactly a school tutorial in a boot camp, you inside one of the Brainiac ships… That's right peeps, I was capture by this mean badass alien and since I had powers I manage to break my cage in to pieces. Now is time to get out of this crazy ass ship...

that is much the tutorial get out of the ship, by the time you end up with that little training instance I manage to stockpile plenty of robotic alien corpses...

After all that trouble with those alien mobs I eventually arrived at the main game world, depending on your mentor you can start in different places and you will have different missions, in the event you are a hero working for Batman, then you will start in Gotham and you will do what batman tells you to do. in the event you are a bad man following Lex Luthor steps, then be prepared to start in Metropolis and do a few tasks related to one of those crazy experiments that they do.

I must be honest people, i am liking Urban environments, the atmosphere is amazing and this time the city is well done, it have everything that a city needs but its overlay it's not a maze of incomprehensive labyrinths. The last thing I want is to get lost trying to figure out how to get out of a place because anyone forgot to add an Exit sign.

The combat it's speedy paced, you have both powers in your number keys as any mmo but you also have some abilities in your mouse, it's like a blend of mmo style and beat them up style. Some people compare the fighting style with the one seen in other single player games like Devil May Cry, Prototype or Darksiders, the only issue is that those games don't have a permanent crosshair for you to objective your skills.

Technically the combat is Hybrid it combines action elements with mmo elements and a gentle shooter feeling. Save me a secret people, i am glad that anyone eventually decided to generate a game that is not more of the same formula... i am tire of clicking the target and then smash my keyboard to get the mob kill... Here you do definite things with the mouse and others with the keyboard, the mouse is not a pointer in the screen doing redundant stuff that the keyboard can.

players can craft items they need
January 05, 2011 10:57 PM PST

Lifestyle Class Feature 1: Gathering and Crafting

All lifestyle classes are able to gather materials from nature and derive materials corresponding to their classes from monsters' corpses. With the use of these materials, players can craft items they need.

Items that can be made by different lifestyle classes are as follows:

Lifestyle Class Gathered Materials Crafted Items

Alchemist Field Herbs Potion
Monsters' Essence Extracting Stones and Decomposing Stones

Artisan Field Ores and Raw Ores Weapons
Monsters' Toenails, Teeth and Hides Gilding Armor

Blacksmith Field Ores Weapons and Gilding Armor

Chef Field Vanilla, Vegetables and Monsters' Flesh Various Foods

* Lifestyle Class Feature 2: Personal Trading and Crafting

As mentioned above, if players gather materials and craft items ceaselessly, they can sell more items along with the increase of their lifestyle class level. They can also accept other players' assignments of making items. Certainly, the assigners must bring necessary materials! Additionally, lifestyle craftsmen of different classes can work together to produce rare advanced items. Lifestyle classes can provide powerful backing for players to build a market where they can trade fairly.

Next, let's see what distinguishes lifestyle classes. To know the battle mode of lifestyle classes, please refer to the following content!

a guide for players looking to get the most out of the holiday
January 03, 2011 10:09 PM PST

The new year brings all sorts of things -- hopes for improvement, resolutions of behavior, and naturally in-game events for every game that's active. Final Fantasy XI is no exception, with this year's event focused around the wide-eyed rarabs that range across Vana'diel. And as with earlier years, players can ring in the new year with some lovely new prizes, including the choice to turn oneself in to a rabbit of unusual size for some time.

Final Fantasy XI hopping along for 2011

Running until January 17th, the event follows the format laid out by earlier years, with players chasing a bounding rabbit across various zones to obtain various prizes. The team at FFXIclopedia has already begun putting together a guide for players looking to get the most out of the holiday; the largest challenge for players will be hunting down the Celebratory Coney darting across the landscape. Take a glance at the official announcement for the usual piece of in-game fiction, and enjoy the beginning of another year in Final Fantasy XI.

One Shots: Our house in the middle of our street

As another day ends in the post-apocalyptic wastelands of Fallen Earth, plenty of adventurers head for what's left of the cities, or the new towns, looking for a place to shelter for the night. If you're a keen shot, you may even secure a spot for yourself, as they see in today's picturesque screenshot sent in to us by Scott T. he writes in to report this scene: "Who says there is no player housing in Fallen Earth? I had a mission to go in to this building, but I went in to the wrong one because I wasn't being attentive to my map. I noticed the sundown and stopped to eat some grilled giant rabbit. I then shot bandits out of the window and yelled 'get off my lawn!'"

they love MMOs of all shapes and sizes, and thanks to readers like you, they have managed to keep One Shots running for 3+ years now!

Karok is a huge creature with muscular arms, who can give huge pressure to the foes even when equipping no weapons. The gameplay video showcased some Karok's lovely skills including wielding a huge pillar to attack foes, throwing out a huge pillar to make range attack, raiding bosses without weapon in hand, seizing huge boss to measure its power and so on.

some hints of what's to come for Guild Wars

Flameseeker Chronicles: What have they learned from the War in Kryta?

It was another relatively calm week in Guild Wars 2 news, but here at Massively they had an thrilling interview with some of the ArenaNet team members about aspects of Guild Wars 1.

These new details sparked plenty of talk among the fans and got me thinking about player feedback from the War in Kryta. Follow along after the jump as they take a glance, and then let me know what you think!

In that interview, John Stumme snuck in some hints of what's to come for Guild Wars: Beyond. they finally got the official name of the Canthan content: Winds of alter. There's much more,  -- Keiran's coming back, there's a wedding on the horizon, and they haven't seen the last of the Lunatic Court.

The War in Kryta experience differs wildly depending on when you came in to the image. in the event you were lucky  to be around from the outset, you know the excitement of following the story as it was revealed piece by piece. For  five months, the story progressed throughout the country of Tyria and culminated in a grand battle near the end of July.

The combination of a lot new content in an elderly game and the bridge to the story of Guild Wars 2 made it an thrilling series of events. What about those who arrived late to the party, though? It's a  different point of view. Part of what made the War in Kryta so fascinating for those who participated as it released was its depth. There were so lots of various little tales that we've become familiar with over time, all expanding on their own and coming together to make up the WiK arc. It worked beautifully and delighted most of the community.

For any character that did not start on this in March, these same elements came together to create an insanely confusing mishmash that necessary a giant flowchart just to figure out what on earth is happening. Any of you who started after July or worked through War in Kryta over one time knows exactly what I mean. You were jogging all over, zoning out and in of Talmark Wilderness to get the dialogues, trotting back to the wiki over and over to figure out why you're stalled, and begging guildmates for apple cider and cupcakes. It's a mess.

Shawn and I discussed this downside on the latest episode of Guildcast, but they also talked a lot about the sense of frustration newer players feel when everyone is focused on advanced content that they are nowhere near reaching. This is where things get complicated for War in Kryta and things start to break down with player opinion.

ArenaNet is balancing on a narrow wire here, because the playerbase is more divided than it's ever been. Guild Wars has always had a regular inflow of new players, but those people were increasingly in the minority. The large majority of the playerbase has been composed of experienced players for a  long time, something that I assume made content decisions a little simpler.

The past few months --  since the Hall of Monuments reward calculator was introduced -- have seen a large shift in that balance, because new players are simply flooding in. the thrill about Guild Wars 2 is large, and so lots of people who were seldom interested in GW1 are dying to get their hands on this game. The news that GW1 offers both backstory and a jump on GW2 titles and perks caused a little bit of a stampede.

This week's Waging WAR catches a whiff of recent happenings on the net and with Warhammer Online: Age of Reckoning. Greg dives in face-first, grabs a fist-full of the news, and delivers a fast-ball rant on the issue.

Waging WAR: Warhammer's new online store

For now, you can read past the break and enjoy my rant.

Well, apparently the RMT has hit the fan, and the resulting spackle is beginning to plaster the proverbial walls of the blogosphere and beyond. Recently, some information was released about what players can expect to buy at EA-Mythic's new store. Although only a few items are actually obtainable now, there's a extensive FAQ on the server transfer service, and we'll must wait a small longer for the Progression and persona packs, as they're set to be released along with patch 1.4. Naturally, the drama is building up some nice momentum, and it will be fascinating to see how the whine will affect this particular cheese over at the Mythic official forum.

While this item is absurd to even reckon about financially feasible for all but the wealthiest of island owners in the WAR community, the precedent that it sets is far more concerning. What this is fundamentally saying is that levels can actually be sold for some actual cash equivalent. The next natural step in this direction is to start selling character templates at a considerable "discount" compared to the war tract. Why buy a War Tract and gain a single level four times for $10 when you can buy a fully outfitted and leveled toon for $X? What would you pay for a 40/40 character fresh out of the box -- $40? $50? More? If the War Tract item sticks on the Mythic store, I honestly don't see anything stopping the devs from adding premade templates to the menu in the future. That's what concerns me, anyway. If and when that happens, I'll be seriously thinking about the worth of my subscription. Hint hint. For on a regular basis and energy I've spent leveling and playing characters in WAR, to have them instantly and irrevocably invalidated by some time-constrained golfing fanatic with a taste for F2P-esque MMOs would be a brutal falcon-kick to my subscription's groin.

The item that appears to be getting the most attention is the Specialized Training pack, which offers a War Tract for $9.99 US. The use of the tract is very limited; it is only useable once per character per account, making this particular item mind-bogglingly pricey. Seriously, one level for 10 bucks? ? You've got to be kidding me. If this item gets even one sale, I will eat my keyboard. OK, that's an exaggeration, because I do know there's folks out there who would gladly throw away 10 dollars to see such a thing. But I digress.

Another item that concerns me is the Herald Pet Pack for $9.99. Although the pet is described as a "vanity" pet, the addition of the words "This pet will follow you around and give you a boost!" sticks out. A boost? What kind of "boost" are they speaking about here? Well, a small analysis goes a long way. Without actually going and buying one, I checked the forums, and there's already players enjoying a 3% movement speed increase. OK, now I'm getting concerned. That much of a speed-boost is immense. This is where pay meets win, and the line has been crossed. I'm seriously concerned about this item, and the way it will affect the game. Knowing that it is a 3% boost, I'm seriously thinking about getting this item, and I'm positive that there's hundreds of players who have already capitalized on this chance. Hopefully it's not so game-breaking that everybody and his 2nd cousin twice-removed has this item, but I can definitely see that happening. Having the Warhammer world populated by these ridiculous small creatures scratching at everyone's heels could become obnoxious. I've yet to login and see these small buggers everywhere, but I fear the worst.

Icebound: An exclusive survey of Rift's Iron Pine Peak

As we continue the countdown to Rift: Planes of Telara's beta and launch, Trion Worlds rewards our patience by expanding our view of the world. Today, Massively reveals an exclusive overview of Rift's coolest area yet: Iron Pine Peak.

If you're a fan of winter-themed zones, then you're in for a doozy! Iron Pine Peak may seem stunning, sprinkled as it is with snow-swept vistas and scenic views down vertigo-inducing cliffs, but only the hardiest of souls will survive to appreciate it. It's a place of solitude, history, mountains, watchmen, evergreens, and one terrifying dragon encased in a jail of ice. Both factions will be converging on this location in an effort to unravel mysteries and prevent a feasible terrifying future from taking place.

Hit the jump for the official description of Iron Pike Peak, a snippet of lore, a dash of video, and several new screenshots!

A snow-capped mountain range rises over Gloamwood and Stillmoor. it is always winter here, and the jagged crags are blanketed at all times by powdery snow, so white it can blind travelers on sunny days. The place looks austere and moody, but never desolate, as evergreens rise hundreds of feet above the snow, and their fortitude gives the mountains their name: Iron Pine Peak.

Eternal cold

there is indeed magic behind the endless frost: Crucia, the Dragon of Air, lies entombed beneath the ice in her temple-city, and the sorcery that holds her has seeped chilled in to the mountains, giving winter an eternal home in Iron Pine Peak.

Though Iron Pine Peak has always been home to snow and ice, something of its cruel, ageless magnificence is unnatural. Iron Pine never changes, stunning and chilled like an unmelting ice-sculpture.

Once, in the coursework of the Age of Dragons, Crucia came to Iron Pine Peak, seeking a home close to the sky. She enslaved the people, mind and body, and had them build a city as magnificent and cruel as she. There, her thralls lived a mockery of life, moving in senseless unison to Crucia's droning harmony.

Trapped under ice

A group of merchants has set up shop on this remarkable lake, gouging in to the surface to make necklaces and ornaments from the unmelting ice. These baubles fetch a high cost throughout Iron Pine, yet a few locals shun the merchants and their articles for sale. After all, it is said that gazing deep in to the ice can attract Crucia's all-piercing eye, so why would someone need to upset -- or gods forbid, wear -- her jail?

At last, the Warlord Börte led an army to defeat Crucia's Storm Legion. Her allies, the mage Phynnious Rothmann and Ekkehard, Shaman of the Valnir, confined the mighty dragon. In a feat of sorcery unequaled since, the original Shaman and the first of the Pyromancers trapped Crucia in her city, then eternally banished every shred of heat from the valley where it lay. Now, that valley is filled with a bottomless lake of ice, pierced only by the highest spires of that awful city, as if Crucia's claws surge desperately from her jail.

This work is created based on a proposition

2010 China Game Developers Award (Concept Arts): Devil Warlock

Background: Long ago, in order to get an understanding of European cultures, an unknown race living in seclusion in the mountain forest sent their elite stealthy troops including their leader Ulosa. However, they were discovered after plenty of years. A fierce war broke out. As a result, multitudes of European knights and mages sealed Ulosa. Years later, devil warlocks from this unknown race tried to remove the seal and revive their leader. Those devil warlocks appeared mysterious and homicidal, seldom showing their true colors.

Reference Elements: i've referred to lots of racial elements, like chieftain priests, primitive tribes, weird cultures from all over the world and other historical things. i am most interested in those fading cultures and embody them in my designs.

About Design: This work is created based on a proposition. I need to describe a mysterious race which has a long history and inconceivable unknown abilities, so I pick a European expression style and have tried plenty of new things. Now, four sketches are exhibited. Actually, i've drawn 12 to distinguish one from another, but four of them are picked out. The four sketches can fully display different background cultures each character represents. eventually, I pick the most fascinating one who gives me a sense of mystery. I even feel very pleasant on the last lap.

Kalicanthus Entertainment announces that beginning from October 28th Halloween festivities will invade the world of Craft of Gods.

Halloween Arrives On Craft Of Gods

But that's not all: inside the pumpkins players will also find some odd "Trick or Treat" potions. These magical potions will give bonuses to players, but sometimes have some side effects that will cause some tricks to those who will use them.

The Lady of the Pumpkins asks the people of Akvilon for help in finding her stolen candies: players must look for pumpkins that contain them and bring them back to her owner, who will provide a Pumpkin Helm as reward, a must-have item to celebrate Halloween!
